Shoot straight up - While using this technique, the camera is positioned upwards slightly tilted with a view to capture very tall objects in a shot. It offers a "worm's eye view". A worm's eye view is a view of something as if the viewer is a worm. In this picture the camera is pointed straight down to capture particular shot of trees.
Low angle - In this technique, people usually take shots from ground level. It makes the picture looks interesting because people generally do not take pictures from this point of view. To take these kind of pictures, you really have to get down low to match the ground level which will add a new dimension to the picture.
Tilting the camera - In this technique, you tilt the camera little bit so that the object creates a imaginary diagonal line. This gives an amazing formation to the picture. "It usually changes the horizontal and vertical lines into diagonal". In this picture below I have tilted the camera which automatically adds a new angle to my picture. Another picture is taken from internet. You can see this image from here!
Frame - Framing the objects gives another look and adds an extra dimension to the shot. In this technique, it draws attention to the object of the image. In some images a slightly blurred frame can add depth to the shots but on the other hand, some images needs to be shot with a frame in focus. There are many other ways of framing a photo. Its not necessary that the frame has to be around four edges, it can be just one or edges of your shot as well.
Eye level - In these types of shots, the camera is placed at the object's height. These shots are usual and common because they are neutral. These shots stays the same as we see them in real life. It is also called "standard" because the shots are generally taken from a height of 4 to 6 feet from the ground. These shots are taken from standing at a normal distance.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure that you have shown an understanding of the photography techniques in this post. It looks like you have annotated some pictures rather than explaining and illustrating the photography techniques.
